Komang completed his undergraduate education at the Faculty of Law of Trisakti University, Jakarta, Indonesia in 1982, a Masters in Law and a Doctoral Degree at the Faculty of Law of Tarumanegara University, Jakarta in 1982 and 2010.

Komang is an academic (law lecturer), legal researcher, advisor for educational business, and previously Dean of Faculty of Law Trisakti University. Komang is also active as the author of several books.
